  • AAC Feature Matching & Assessment

This course provides an overview of the features of some of the top AAC applications. Participants will learn how to systematically evaluate individual communication needs, consider sensory-motor, cognitive, and linguistic factors, and align these with device features and access methods. Through case studies and practical tools, the course emphasizes evidence-based, person-centered decision-making to ensure AAC systems are tailored for successful and functional communication across environments.

  • Neurodiversity-Affirming AAC Therapy

This course explores how to provide AAC intervention through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. Participants will learn strategies that prioritize autonomy, presume competence, and embrace multimodal communication while moving away from compliance-based approaches. Using practical examples and case studies, the course emphasizes creating supportive environments, honoring individual communication preferences, and fostering authentic connection.

  • AAC & Gestalt Language Processing

This course explores how to support gestalt language processors (GLPs) who use AAC. Participants will learn to recognize gestalt language development and how this may present in both spoken and aided communication. The course highlights neurodiversity-affirming strategies for modeling, responding, and supporting movement from delayed echolalia toward self-generated language. Practical examples, case studies, and AAC-specific considerations will equip participants to better support GLPs in developing authentic, functional communication.

  • Building Buy-In: Training Teams to Support AAC
